Dr Stubbs' top 5 tips to maintain exercise in 2024

Brendon is interviewed for a new piece in Vogue Germany - all about how to become and stay motivated for exercise. With these 5 tips you can increase your motivation to train:


#1 Start small

"Firstly, it is ideal to start with small training sessions. For example, you can start with 15 minutes of an exercise that you like. This is realistic for many people, and research shows that this can already improve your mood. As soon as Once you have achieved some success (for example, successfully completed an exercise ), you can consider slowly increasing the training time."



#2 Find a sport that you enjoy

"Second, the type of exercise you enjoy most is the best for you. There are hundreds of sports (running, gym, yoga, etc.) that all have positive effects on mental and physical health. Try Try different forms of exercise until you find a sport that you enjoy, and don't feel pressured to follow the latest sports trends."




#3 Be consistent with it

"Third, set realistic and achievable goals, focusing primarily on staying consistent and not overtraining or overtraining. #5 Be gentle with yourself

“Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss a day or a week. As soon as you can, just try to get back into exercise at a pace that suits you and keep going."


Why are many people afraid to start exercising?

People are often afraid of starting to exercise. A regular workout schedule seems like an insurmountable task. But why is it like that? "There can be many reasons for this.
